This workshop will cover the foundational elements needed to define and guide the development of a medical device cybersecurity program including governance, leadership, risk management, contract language, program elements, life cycle maintenance operations, and monitoring and response strategies and activities. The discussion will include monitoring tools and techniques for building effective multistakeholder partnerships needed to effectively secure the healthcare ecosystem. Instructors

Kevin McDonald – Kevin McDonald is the principal healthcare cybersecurity advisor at MedSec. Kevin has 40 years of healthcare experience in patient care, electronic medical record implementation, software, project management, IT support services, and information security. In his former role at the Mayo Clinic, Kevin led the development of the medical device cybersecurity program. He also served as a security advisor for top medical device manufacturers, including Medtronic, Siemens, Varian, and Vizient.

Phil Englert – Phil has over 30 years of technical and operational leadership in healthcare and life sciences focused on strategic direction setting, operations improvement, and data and technology-enabled business optimization and transformation initiatives. Experienced executive leader in strategy and tactics development for $250m MedTech services organization supporting over 130 Acute Care facilities across 22 states.
