Presenter Information James McGuffey
Jim joined the U.S. Army at the age of 18, serving two tours in Vietnam. He served 8 years as a police officer where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice and joined the Armored Car industry, earning a Master of Arts Degree in Management, serving 26 years in senior level positions of Area General Manager, and Regional Vice President, with responsibility during his tenure for managing 50 facilities, several-thousand armed guards and 1,000 armored vehicles. It was during these years, that Jim learned the importance of detecting hostile surveillance, as it relates to his team members coming home safely each day.
Jim has been a member of ASIS International for 42 years and is one of approximately 400 security professionals holding three Board Certifications in Security Management, Physical Security, and Investigations, which are accredited by Department of Homeland Security and the American National Standards Institute.
Since 2012, Jim has instructed 70 Antiterrorism Administration Assistance courses, training federal, state, local law enforcement, military and private security professionals in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, South America, Mexica and Latin America. He is vetted by the Department of State to instruct Surveillance Detection, Protecting Soft Targets, Critical Infrastructure and Security Resilience, Protecting Bus, and Railway Systems from Terrorist Attacks, and 6 other antiterrorism courses.
Jim has been a member of InfraGard since 2013, serving as Sector Chief, Regional VP and Board Member, Executive VP and recently, he stepped into role of President for South Carolina InfraGard Members Alliance.
